Rick has 33 years’ experience in the heavy civil construction industry. He began as an entry level engineer for and progressed to Area Manager. He began his career and worked with Kiewit for 10 years, then Granite as PM and Area Manager for three years then as an area manager for a mid-size utility contractor in Salt Lake. Rick has worked in Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, Alaska, Massachusetts, Arizona, Minnesota, Texas and Wyoming. Since 2007, he has provided independent cost estimating, constructability reviews, risk assessments and change order and price negotiations on large heavy civil and transit projects.

Rick’s contractor background and experience are invaluable when providing risk assessments and mitigation opportunities, constructability reviews and cost estimates. He has successfully led an team of 19 Estimators in the preparation of realistic, competitive, market-based cost estimates on complex transportation projects. He has extensive experience working with North America projects.

Rick is proficient in cost estimating and utilizing the HCSS (Heavy Bid) estimating software to perform bottom up, contractor style production-based estimating.
